Monochromatic Watercolor

Monochromatic Watercolor painting is painting with just one color of paint, usually for this class either Sepia (a dark brown), or Paynes grey.  It is a great introduction to painting with watercolors because you are only working with values and not having to deal with any color as you learn to master this medium.  Depending on how much water you mix with your color you will get all of the values you need to paint a beautiful picture.  You also learn all of the same techniques for the wonderful effects watercolor is known for like wet-on-wet and graded washes.  Painting with one color simplifies this medium quite easily for taking on vacation or painting on location.

Students must be 8 or older to take this class.
